The Copper Whale Inn Bed & Breakfast is located in the heart of historic Anchorage, convenient to the city's restaurants, galleries, museums and attractions. Our West End location offers stunning views across Cook Inlet to the Alaska Range and convenient access to the 11-mile Coastal Trail. Binoculars in the Living Room help you to spot bald eagles and other passing wildlife. Innkeeper Glen Hemingson is on hand to answer questions and offer suggestions for activities and excursions.
Twenty hours of daily sunlight attracts summer visitors to Anchorage, where museums and galleries, fine restaurants and a dynamic urban scene exist within minutes of outdoor activities, wildlife viewing and untamed wilderness. Day driving tours to Talkeetna, the Kenai Peninsula or Prince William Sound, flightseeing tours to Katmai, Lake Clark or Denali National Parks, hiking and biking on the Coastal Trail or in Chugach State Park offer the experience of a lifetime for guests of the Copper Whale Inn.
Built in 1939 by local doctor Howard Romig, the main building is historic by Anchorage standards (the city was founded in 1915),and was the first architecturally designed home in the city.
