Otto Lake Area Tour:
Travels along old coal mine and ATV trails. Tour uses both single rider and two-passenger side-by-side units Includes two breathtaking overlooks, where wildlife is often sighted, and then heads down to the creek bed, where drivers spend about 15-20 minutes splashing through the water. Tour covers about ten miles. Creek bed portion of the tour also includes time where drivers can drive wherever they want within a designated area. As beautiful as the overlooks are, the majority of our guests say that they enjoy the creek bed experience the most. Tours start every odd hour from 7 am - 9 pm.
Midnight Sunset Tour (6/1-7/13):
Leaving at 11pm, tour first travels into a creek bed where drivers explore unique sand castle formations and then traverses up to two spectacular overlooks to enjoy the unique Alaskan midnight sunset. Snack and beverage provided.
Otto Lake Extended Tour:
For those with the time and desire to get deep into the Alaskan bush surrounding Denali National Park, we offer an 'extended' Otto Lake Area tour. Lasting about 4 hours from pick up to drop off, this tour goes much farther (18+ miles), much higher and includes a wide variety of trail conditions including stream crossings, marsh, bouncy tree-root rutted trails and steep hill-climbing. Spectacular 360 degree overlooks provide views of the northern flanks of the Alaska Range, including Denali National Park, Mt. Healy, Otto Lake and the surrounding Healy Valley. Pick up is at 7 am, returning around 11:15 am. Tour includes small snack and beverage.
Stampede Trail 'Into the Wild' Tour:
Using only two-passenger Rhino ATVs, this tour travels far down the same rugged trail as 24-year old Chris McCandless, subject of the best-selling book by Jon Krakauer and movie produced by Sean Penn. Stopping just a couple of miles from the fast-flowing Teklanika River that prevented McCandless from returning alive to civilization, this approximately 3-hour fully narrated trip (pick up to drop off) provides a fascinating discussion of McCandless's fatal journey, numerous viewpoints of Mt. McKinley (weather permitting), ample opportunities for wildlife sightings and an unforgettable experience navigating trails maneuverable only by ATVs. In addition, a meal and beverage around a campfire is provided. Departure at 5:30 pm, returning about 9:15 pm.
