Denali National Park Denali National Park and Preserve is located in interior Alaska and contains Mount McKinley (Denali), the tallest mountain in North America. The park and preserve together cover 9,492 mi˛ (24,585 km˛).
Gates of the Arctic National Park Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve is in northern Alaska and consists primarily of portions of the Brooks Range of mountains. The park covers 13,238 mi˛ (39,460 km˛), about the same size as Switzerland.
Glacier Bay National Park Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve is located in southeast Alaska and is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park covers 5,130 mi˛ (13,287 km˛).
Katmai National Park Katmai National Park and Preserve in southern Alaska is most notable for the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes and for its brown bears. The park covers 7,383 mi˛ (19,122 km˛).
Kenai Fjords National Park Kenai Fjords National Park is located on the Kenai Peninsula in southcentral Alaska and contains the Harding Ice field, one of the largest ice fields in the United States.  The park covers 917 mi˛ (2,833 km˛).
Kobuk Valley National Park Kobuk Valley National Park is in northwestern and is noted for the Great Kobuk Sand Dunes and caribou migration routes. The park covers 11,756 mi˛ (6,757 km˛), approximately the size of the state of Delaware.
Lake Clark National Park Lake Clark National Park and Preserve is in southwest Alaska on the Alaska Peninsula and is noteworthy for its location at the junction of three mountain ranges; the Alaska Range, the Aleutian Range and the Chigmit Mountains. The park covers 4,094 mi˛ (16,308 km˛).
Wrangell-St. Elias National Park Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve is in southern Alaska and is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  It is the largest national park in the United States by area, covering an area of 20,587 mi˛ (53,321 km˛) and contains the second-highest peak in the country, Mount Saint Elias, at 18,008 feet (5,489 meters).
